Training Series
Our comprehensive, Four Part DEI Training Series equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to foster a more inclusive workplace. Through engaging sessions on topics like implicit bias, microaggressions, and DEI communication, we help individuals and organizations address the challenges of diversity and create respectful, equitable environments. Each session empowers participants to actively contribute to a culture of inclusion, ensuring that diversity becomes a strength and that every team member feels valued and understood.
01
DEI: Bridges to Understanding
This training goes beyond cultural awareness and valuing diversity. It is a catalyst for building an organization that is free from discrimination, and one that allows everyone to be appreciated
and to make a meaningful contribution.
Participants will explore real life situations, and build and refine the skills necessary to understand, appreciate and communicate respect for others. They will also leave with a sense of responsibility for speaking up when inappropriate or discriminatory remarks are made, and
how to become part of a solution. The result is an enhanced workplace, where diversity becomes a strength instead of a weakness, a workplace likely to have fewer instances of bias and discrimination and where everyone can function in an inclusive atmosphere.
02
Implicit Bias
This session looks deeply at unconscious and hidden bias that stems from the associations that people unknowingly hold about themselves and others based on perceptions of difference.
Participants in this session will learn about the unconscious stereotypes and assumptions that often are contrary to espoused beliefs about racial equity and justice that people express.
Participants will also learn to consider ways to mitigate the negative impact and address Implicit Bias both personally and professionally.
03
Microaggressions in the Workplace
This session provides an introduction to Microaggressions and their numerous manifestations in workplace settings. Participants will learn how different types of discrimination, and specifically those enacted through microaggressions, impact the lives of BIPOC employees and provide
hands-on knowledge and strategies to approach, address, and intervene when such acts are present.
Participants will learn techniques on how to reduce the prevalence and influence of
microaggressions on recipients.
04
Say This, Not That:
Improving DEI Communication
This session is designed to improve communication in a diverse workplace. We will address common comments that are well intended but have harmful effects. Although well intended,
these kinds of statements can be offensive, racist, and hurtful.
We will examine harmful statements and create new language that is inclusive and respectful. Employees won’t get it
right every time but this training will definitely assist in reducing the probability of repeating
these gaffes.
